Job Title: Floral Design Apprentice

Position Type: Part Time - Full Time

Location: Fort Langley

Schedule: Approx. 25-40 hours per week. Must have open availability.

Note: Absolute availability is required for Friday and Saturdays, peak holidays like Valentine’s & Mother’s Day, and busy wedding season weekends including some Sundays.

The Position: Floralista is looking for an exceptional person with a proven track record of outstanding customer service to join our team for training as a floral design apprentice. This training will ultimately lead to a rewarding career as a full-time high level designer. You will begin by mastering stem care and shop maintenance, quickly advancing to designing, high-end arrangements for weddings and daily clients in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. In this role you will be the welcoming face and voice of Floralista with an aptitude for personalized sales-minded, up-selling abilities. If you have a passion for all things flowers, a keen and developing interest in design trends, styling, aesthetics, and visual merchandising, and who isn't afraid of hard work and getting their hands dirty, and knows how to close a sale, we want you!

Personality: You are a vivacious, people-loving person who can communicate effortlessly in an engaging, naturally friendly manner. You contribute a positive, energetic vibe to the team with a “can-do” attitude that can easily read the room. You have an excellent work ethic characterized by honesty and commitment. You are graceful under pressure, adaptive and versatile.

Work Environment: Within this role you will have the unique opportunity to work in our gorgeous floral studio in Fort Langley. Featuring plenty of natural light and overflowing with beautiful florals and plants, Floralista’s workspace is something special.

Qualifications:

2+ years of experience in retail sales and in-person customer service
Basic knowledge of floristry: flowers, colour, composition, texture and floral design
Proficiency with a POS system, preferably Shopify
Strong creativity and an eye for artistic endeavour
Teachable and easy to learn
Well-Presented with a brand-aligned personal aesthetic
Excellent references

Skills:

Outstanding and lovely customer service skills.

Ability to multi-task and pay attention to details

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a friendly, warm and approachable tone
An aptitude for design, colour and making things look beautiful.
Comfortable handling client interactions in person including email and phone
Good time management, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, timelines, and details simultaneously while staying organized.
Confident, resourceful problem-solver with ability to navigate client concerns with empathy and professionalism
Self-motivated and able to manage tasks independently
Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy flower buckets, and have physical stamina.

Pay Range: $19.00-$24.00/hour starting wage
